WASHINGTON, DC – The Never Forget the Heroes Act will be introduced today at 3:00 p.m. at a press conference on Capitol Hill. Pitta & Baione LLP partners will be in D.C. to show our support.
This legislation would rescue the 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund from its current funding crisis, and prevent further losses to 9/11 victims.
9/11 victims and their families will join Jon Stewart and bipartisan legislators Senators Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) and Gory Gardner (R-CO), Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, and Representatives Carolyn B. Maloney (D-NY), Jerrold Nadler (D-NY), and Peter King (R-NY) in announcing the bipartisan Never Forget the Heroes: Permanent Authorization of the 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund Act. If you have not yet contacted your member of Congress to join in cosponsoring the legislation Citizens for the Extension of the James Zadroga Act has created a way that will make it easy for you to contact your Member of Congress.
We need to get your Member of Congress and your State’s Senators to join in co-sponsoring the legislation to fully fund the VCF, reverse the cuts and keep it open.
